"mutating image"

takes place from september 14th to october 21st, 2001 in rotermann's salt storage arts center, tallinn art hall, gallery of the tallinn art hall and city gallery.

regulations:

the 12th tallinn print triennial will present original works made between 1998 and 2001 (incl.) and produced in any reproductive printmaking technique, including digital ones. the works must be signed by the artist.

the organizers anticipate that most works will have a maximum paper size of 70 x 100 cm. The organizers will however accept and frame larger works but very large works will remain unframed. 3 dimensional works will also be welcomed, provided that a printing technique has been used. written proposals for new 3-dimensional works may also be submitted. these should be accompanied by sketches and 2 slides or photos of former works.

the selection of works consits of two phases:

phase a - slides

Artists should send slides of up to 4 works they would like to present at the triennial. the slides must be of good quality so that they can be used for publishing a catalogue. 35 mm slides should be sent in 5 x 5 cm mounts on which should be written the name of the artist, country, the title of the work, year and the number of the slide. additional information about the works - technique, year, dimensions (both print size and paper size - height and length in cm) etc. should be included on the entry form (download printable format).

deadline:

the slides must be received by the organizing committee not later than March 2nd, 2001.

a special jury of the organizing committee selects the artists from phase a for phase b - to participate at the 12th tallinn print triennial.

slides of the works will not be returned.

phase b - selected artists

artists selected for phase b should send their works (at their own cost) together with completed entry form to the address below between June 11th and 25th, 2001. we suggest the use of strong rolls for packing. prints have to meet the regulations of the triennial and must be sent unframed and without mounts. signing the entry form means that the artist accepts the regulations.

if the works do not arrive in time, the artist cannot take part in the triennial.

if any damage is found on receipt of the prints, the artist will be notified at once.

3-dimensional works should be packed in such a way that the organizers could return them in the same packing. any assembly instructions should be sent with the work.

participation fee:

phase a - is free of charge.

phase b - selected artists (except from latvia and lithuania) should send a proof of a bank remittance to the amount of $20 (european countries) and $30  (artists from non-european countries) to cover prints return charges, to the following bank account:
