1st tallinn print triennial
was established in 1968 by estonian artists with the support of latvians and lithuanians as a
counterbalance to the moscow-dominated official art life where monumental art, sculpture and
painting had the leading role. prints which are easily multiplied and distributed became an
important medium for the innovative artistic ideas and alternative relations.

2nd tallinn print triennial
1971 - artists from moscow, leningrad and minsk participated as guests.

8nd tallinn print triennial
1989 - international for the first time. artists from leningrad, finland, poland, canada and hungary participated in addition to artists
from the baltic states.

11th tallinn print triennial
is a programme of exhibitions and events which poses the question of the heroic tradition of prints
not so much from a craft aspect but from a technological aspect. it could even be said that it
deals with a kind of memory technology in the context of other media technologies.
